The universe is celebrating! The planet earth is indeed blessed to witness the advent of a great, unique, outstanding dedicated master in the guise of Swami Paramananda. A cosmic man, an existentialist, He is Maitreyi( the friend of friends)…He is Love, He is Wisdom, He is Truth… He is an enlightened being – the Master of this age and the solution of now and the coming days… He is the One, the living Friend! He is the very example of self-sacrifice, the embodiment of righteousness, the lover of Truth. He is your true friend, ultimate saviour, the One to shed light in your existence. He is the absolute guide to help you cross the trammels of the world and realise your self. Amiable, approachable and yet divine in all senses, Swami Paramananda stands out as a unique, exalting Being on earth. Insufficient are the words to extol His inestimable grandeur.
His Early Life
Born on 8 October 1959 at Souillac in Mauritius, he was known as Rajendra Prasad Dassruth. At a younger age, he made a study of the ‘Bible knowledge’ which really fascinated him and he had the sensations of having lived that moment. The teacher’s expose on the crucification of Jesus moved him intensely. Since then the love for Jesus Christ was born in him and he even got his vision. Extraordinary mystical experience dawned upon him but he could not grasp its connotation. Since then he constantly prayed Jesus Christ and read the bible though there were phases in his life when these practices receded to oblivion and he led a normal life. He always used to talk on spirituality with friends. One such friend, William Tripier who will later become his gurubhai or brother disciple deeply influenced him. At a later stage besides the vision of Jesus, he got the visions of Vishnu, Rama, Krishna and other divinities.
Meeting with his Guru
Initially Swami Paramananda, then known as Raj Dassruth, had heard about Swami Veervasantha from his friend, William Tripier who was his disciple. In spite of habitual reference made to the guru, he did not take the initiative to meet him. In fact, once when he inquired from William Tripier if the master had any message for him, these words of the master were relayed to him “nature will bring him to me one day”. Though intrigued by these words, he did not make any move to meet him. Then one day seized with curiosity and energized by some mysterious power, he took the initiative.
It was a Sunday when Raj Dassruth only at the age of 19 met Swami Veervasantha, an old man dressed in short.Meeting his beloved Master metamorphosed his life. He was accepted as his disciple though would-be disciples were tested before admittance. He got initiated at his third meeting with the guru. This moving moment was crowned by tears. He was given a mantra which he chanted leisurely and spontaneously. The loftiest knowledge on God was revealed to him but the Master never imposed disciplines. Raj Dassruth’s contact with his guru lasted only for ten months after which the latter left the world for higher realms. It was later at the age of 21 that he had his first glimpse of God realisation. His brother-disciple, Swami Prahladananda conferred to him the title ‘Swami Paramananda’.
