The universe is composed of a multitude of layers. For example, we have the molecular layer, fundamental particle layer, etheric layer, astral layer and many others. All of them form a vast and complex network. Few people, however, are aware that we have a layer made up of thoughts emanated by human beings. Our thoughts escape our mind in the form of waves to move freely in space where they can be captured, most of the time unconsciously, as dreams, thoughts or visions by other people.
We live in a world of change and uncertainty, yet people put all their eggs in the same basket. When these are broken, they cry and become miserable. Why do we refuse to admit that here nothing is certain, nothing is stable and life does not give any guarantee to anyone? Seasons change, time changes, night is followed by day, youth by old age, good health by illnesses, yet we are attached to things.
Alchemy means the art of transforming a base metal into gold. The science of meditation says that the mind in its actual condition is gross as it reflects the sum total of the impressions gathered during childhood and past lives. As ice can be transformed into water and water into vapour, similarly the gross mind or more precisely its impressions can be transformed into energy and consciousness. Consciousness, according to mystics, is the basic stuff of existence. It is the soul or a state of blessedness that is pure, infinite, ineffable peace and bliss and conceals infinite virtues. It is the mind in its purest state. Just like limpid water reflects everything, the pure or awakened mind reflects the qualities of God. This is why Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” From one angle, this statement is scientific.
